The only suspect in the disapperance of American Natalee Holloway was caught on camera talking to men posing as Dutch sex trade bosses, offering to deliver women.

Joran Van der Sloot, 21, has been living in Thailand for several years now, after charges were dropped against him in the case of Natalee Holloway. Holloway disappeared in 2005 while on a senior class trip to Aruba. The last person to see her alive was Van der Sloot, a native of The Netherlands who was raised in Aruba, and claimed he left her on a beach after engaging in sex with her. It is widely believed that Van der Sloot played a role in Holloway's kidnapping and/or murder but there is no evidence of his guilt. However, in early 2008, a Dutch reporter aired footage of Van der Sloot talking on hidden camera about dumping the teenager's body after she had a seizure. Van der Sloot claimed he was joking around and no charges were filed as a result of that footage.

New Undercover Footage

Peter De Vries, the reporter responsible for the hidden camera "confession" has once again duped the 21-year old, this time filiming him offering to deliver Thai women and girls who think they are going to The Netherlands to work as dancers. The women ultimately end up being forced to have sex for money ("Report: Natalee Holloway Suspect Involved in Thai Sex Trafficking"). The tape reportedly shows Van der Sloot claiming he makes over 10,000 euros for each woman he delivers.

The footage was aired on Dutch television and Devries says it shows that Van der Sloot has little regard for human life or for women. The footage raises questions about Natalee Holloway. Is she perhaps still alive somewhere? Dave Holloway, Natalee's father, says he hopes that Van der Sloot will be prosecuted for trafficking but doesn't think this new development will have any impact on his daughter's case ("Natalee Holloway disappearance suspect Joran van der Sloot reportedly discusses prostitution trafficking" by Hannah Wolfson. The Birmingham News, November 12, 2008.). However, some are saying this evidence of Van der Sloot's criminal behavior will give authorities in Aruba just cause to once again issue charges against him for the disapperance of Natalee Holloway.

Renewed Interest in Van der Sloot as Suspect in Holloway Case

Authorities in Aruba are saying they have received new "tips" that indicate Van der Sloot was indeed responsible for the disapperance of Holloway ("Tips Renew Hopes of Solving Holloway Case"). They would not be specific about what type of tips they are but there is an indication that a new witness has come forward, saying that Van der Sloot and his father, Paulus Van der Sloot, were seen near a pond the night Holloway disappeared, around 4am. Two other witnesses have also come forward but authorities would not say what they claim to have witnessed.
