Three simple steps anyone can take to help stop the genocide in Darfur.

As the genocide rages on in Darfur and the death toll continues to rise, socially conscious citizens around the world are asking: What can be done to help stop the genocide in Sudan?

For far too long the genocide in Darfur has carried on with minimal resistance from world leaders. Now is the time to step up and take action against this genocide. By following these simple steps a difference can be made.

1. Educate Yourself & Educate Others

The first step towards change is education. Learn everything there is to know about Darfur and tell someone. Knowledge is power. By becoming a social advocate for Darfur, awareness can be raised about these atrocities and by educating others they too can become inspired to take action.

2. Join a Group

There are several agencies and groups devoted to stopping this genocide. Find one in the area and join! There is power in numbers.

By coming together on this issue it sends a message of hope to the people of Sudan and shows them that the world does care what is happening. If donating time to this cause is not a realistic goal, then consider donating financially to provide funding to a non-profit group that is helping to stop the genocide.

3. Question Politicians

The only thing that prevents this genocide from coming to an end is the lack of political will. World leaders have yet to provide the funding necessary to support the troops willing to move in and put a stop to the violent killings in Darfur.

As a result, millions of people are displaced, hundreds of thousands have been raped and murdered and countless children have been left without mothers and fathers. This can not be tolerated.

The world is a global community, separated by land, but brought together through the use of communication technology. There is no excuse for not taking action against the genocide in Sudan. The world leaders know this is happening. Global citizens everywhere should hold politicians accountable for their lack of action and demand that they act now.

Act Now!

The United Nations has referred to this genocide as one of the worst humanitarian crisis of all time. By taking the time to learn about Darfur, by educating others, by joining groups within the community and by questioning politicians on this issue, people around the world can help to stop the genocide in Darfur. The promises of Never Again should not be forgotten. Act now and Save Darfur!
